Kahani Of A Paradise | Gokarna

Updated: Mar 9, 2020

Welcome to Kahani Paradise”, He said as we entered the villa through the antique Rajasthani door at the entrance of this boutique property.

"Hilltop Hideaway”, “Gokarna’s well-kept secret”, “Sophisticated and Luxurious Paradise” - Few phrases, fellow bloggers have chosen to describe this beautiful little place.

Kahani Paradise is situated where the hills of the Western Ghat kiss the Arabian Sea. A six-bedroom boutique luxury resort gives you access to the best views and nothing but utmost luxury. Every suite in Kahani Paradise is different from the other. This is one of the reasons why you must visit Kahani Paradise more than once. It's a perfect romantic place that helps you connect with yourself.

A Day In Paradise.

Wake up to the sound of morning birds chirping in the forest around, a distant sound of the waves and the sun rising behind the mountains. Enjoy the decadent breakfast along with Axel, the inhouse Beagle in the community dining room. Take a refreshing dip in the splendid infinity pool overlooking the beach and the hills while the winds bring the aroma of the frangipani flowers from right next to the pool. Visit the famous hippie Paradise beach through a mud road from inside the property and ask for a picnic lunch on the beach, maybe? Take a relaxing walk across 20 acres farm among the coconut and banana trees. Cannot get more tropical than this, right?

In the evening, opt for sundowner cocktail experience in a secret hideout inside the property. End the day lounging in your deck with a zillion stars and an occasional shooting stars for a company. Who wouldn’t love a day like this? Kahani is truly a paradise.

Luxurious Paradise

Everything about Kahani paradise screams luxury. Every room is special. Every bathroom is even more special. They had his and her basin with ample light and little elements of design in the corners. The room we stayed in had a theme: Elephants. Our curtains were made of the best linen with elephant motifs in silver, the cushion covers had a hand embroidered elephant on it. The Rajasthani doors had elephants carved on it. There has been a lot of thought gone inside crafting each of their suite and you can see it.

The team in Kahani took care of us with the utmost affection. From serving cold coconut water when we arrived to preparing some special vegetarian food during our stay, they made us feel royal and great.

Experience Paradise

Just like a food menu, Kahani paradise has a unique menu placed in every room: The Experience Menu. How do you like the idea of surprising your loved one with an unforgettable dinner with a private sitar concert among a coconut groove near a stepwell lit with over 1000 candles? Or how about seeing the sun go down for the day from inside a private pool with your loved one while sipping on your favourite cocktail? How about discovering Gokarna’s coastline with a local fisherman in his boat? Or cooking class with the locals? The menu had all these experiences we could pick from which would help us get to know the authentic side of Gokarna.

Kahani Of The Paradise

Kahani Paradise is owned by a British family who was looking for a second home in India. It took them 10 years to find a location they love, construct and do up the property to perfection. They visit the property every year during the Christmas season. A team of extremely talented architects, designers worked on the villa to make it what it is. We had the privilege of meeting Mr Mathieu. His company designed the experiences and takes care of the operations of Kahani Paradise.
